Exploring the Brightwater Community

Overlooking the Pacific and the Bolsa Chica wetlands, the private community of Brightwater is less than one mile away from the beach. Boasting homes with spacious, well-designed floor plans offering luxury finishes, every home within the community enjoys access to the Huntington Room which maximizes indoor-outdoor livability.

Brightwater Amenities

In addition to being located just a mile from the beach, the Brightwater community is situated near to business centers, shopping, dining, services and entertainment. Residents also enjoy easy access to the private Brightwater Club, which provides recreational and social amenities to community residents. Meanwhile, the luxurious 2,000-square-foot recreation center boasts a fitness center, community room, pool and spa.

The city of Huntington Beach also offers a number of amenities and recreational opportunities. The downtown district boasts an active art center and shopping district. It is also home to the International Surfing Museum. A number of events also take place in Huntington Beach every year, including the U.S. Open of Surfing, the AVP beach volleyball tour and a biathlon hosted by the Bolsa Chica & Huntington State Beach Lifeguards. The city has also hosted a Fourth of July parade every year since 1904 and the SoCal independent Film Festival takes place there every September. The annual Cruise of Lights Boat Tour also takes place in the Huntington Harbor each year.

Brightwater Schools

Homes within the Brightwater community are located within the Ocean View and Huntington Beach Union High School districts. As such, residents attend Hope View Elementary from kindergarten through fifth grade and Mesa View Middle School from sixth through eighth grade. For high school, residents attend either Marina High School or Huntington Beach High School, the latter of which is home to the acclaimed Academy for the Performing Arts.

It should be noted that school districts do change on occasion based on attendance rates and other factors. If district changes were to be made, students and their parents can petition to continue attending these schools based upon open enrollment policies.

Huntington Beach

Named after American businessman Henry E. Huntington, the seaside city of Huntington Beach is located in Orange County, California. With a population of nearly 190,000 according to the 2010 census, Huntington Beach is the most populous beach city in Orange County. Known for its 9.5-mile stretch of sandy beach and its mild climate, the city is bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the southwest, by Westminster on the north, by Seal Beach on the northwest, by Fountain Valley on the northeast, by Costa Mesa on the east and by Newport Beach on the southeast.

With a borderline semi-arid/Mediterranean climate, Huntington Beach is generally sunny dry and cool. The evenings, however, can sometimes become excessively damp. Strong breezes reaching speeds of 15 miles per hour are also common in the morning and in the evening. Meanwhile, summer temperatures rarely exceed 85 degrees Fahrenheit while winter temperatures rarely drop below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Ocean temperatures typically range between 55 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
