Historia de Chandler

Chandler?s history dates back to 1891 when veterinarian Dr. Alexander John Chandler settled in the area. Over the next decade, Dr. Chandler acquired 18,000 acres of land and drew up plans for a town. The first townsite office officially opened on May 16, 1912. Chandler High School was opened in 1914 and the city incorporated in 1920. Dr. Chandler was the town?s first mayor. The population experienced a surge in 1941 with the founding of Williams Air Force Base and by 1980 there were 30,000 residents. Chandler is now one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the United States and in 2010 was named an All-America City.
