The 14th Annual Art in the Park is coming back to Newport Beach on October 14th. This special one-day event offers the opportunity to mingle with over 100 artists and craftspeople as they put their original art and fine crafts on display.
Exploring Art in Newport Beach
Art in the Park brings together artists from a variety of different artistic backgrounds. Artistic ventures include oil paintings, pastels, watercolors, mixed media, acrylics, glass art, sculpture, jewelry, textiles, photography and woodcrafts. A full list of participating artists can be viewed by visiting the event website.
A number of art activities for children will also take place throughout the day, with the activities being provided by the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity. Founded in 1999 by four-time Academy Award recipient and legendary animation creator and director Chuck Jones, the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity in Orange County dedicated to reinvigorating the creative spirit through classes, lectures, exhibitions, film festivals and building an online community. Activities provided by the Chuck Jones Center will be appropriate for children of all ages, ranging from toddlers to those who are in their 90s. These projects will include those that help to retain and make better use of our memory, those designed to introduce artists to cartooning and simple projects meant for the very young.

A 17,000-square-foot addition to the existing public library was added to the north end of the green while a parking structure capable of accommodating 450 cars is located on the other side. Pedestrian paths crisscross the green every 60 feet.
The site also features a community park boasting a lookout tower for ocean views and a pedestrian bridge to allow for safe passage across a nine-lane roadway. The park features Newport Beach’s first dog park as well as civic gardens serving as a habitat for native flora and fauna. Trails and bridges over an existing wetland can also be found in the park.
