Newport Beach Clothing Line Works to Build Stronger Relationships Between Dads and Their Children

Taking a direct cue from Mommy and Me events that are popular all over the country, Fodada Clothing recently deciced to start hosting Dad and Me events in an effort to help foster healthy father-child relationships.

A Newport Beach clothing line with stores in numerous location around the state, Fodada Clothing was founded by father-of-two Bobby Barzi. Inspired by his relationship with his sons, Barzi set out to help improve the relationships between fathers and their children across the country. Some of the outings that have been offered in the past have included those that involve robots, architecture, hikes and cooking. By offering a diverse arrangement of activities, Barzi further hopes to break the stereotypes surrounding fatherhood.

One excellent example of this mission took place in February of this year when Fodada helped dads out with the difficult morning routine of fixing hair. The event was held at Ashtin Salaon in Corona del Mar. The salon is owned by Metin Serdan, who is a new dad himself, along with his wife, Ashleigh. The free event allowed dads to have fun with their children while also teaching them how to do a variety of hairstyles on their children. To add to the fun, the event was open to dads and their kids – both girls and boys – anywhere between the age of 4 to 99.

Future Dad and Me Events

As part of their ongoing mission to encourage healthy relationships between dads and their children, Fodada has a couple of great events lined up for the month of June. The first, Photoshoot with Dad, will take place today, June 11th, from noon until 2:00 pm. This event will be offered in partnership between Fodada and Blink Inc as it offers free 10-minute photo shoots to dads and their children. The photoshoots are being offered at many locations around the region, with the nearest being at Fashion Island located at 401 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach. Visit the Fodada events page for a complete list of locations and to keep up-to-date about future events.

To assist with getting in the spirit for Father’s Day, another Dad and Me event will also take place the day before the special day on June 17th. Taking place from 4:30 until 7:00 pm, BBQ with dad will invite dads and their kids to join in a special volunteer event to honor dads and, in particular, Veteran dads. The event, which is made possible by a collaboration between Father’s Eve and the L.A. Dads Group, will take place at a private home in Eagle Rock. Food, drinks, a bouncy castle and a pool will be included.

Prior to the event, dads and kids will help to pack kits of donated items to give to Veteran dads. After completing the packing, they can join in the fun activities that are planned. The address to the event will be provided after registering to participate.
