Exploring the Shorecliffs Neighborhood

Located in the San Clemente North area of San Clemente, the Shorecliffs community boasts more than 500 single-level and two-story homes offering magnificent ocean views. With most homes constructed in the early 1960s, the community is comprised of a rich diversity of owners and homes of varying styles and sizes. From beaches to golf clubs, residents of the Shorecliffs community enjoy easy access to a number of amenities and conveniences.

Shorecliffs Amenities

Situated near to the ocean, the Shorecliffs community is within walking distance to a private beach that can be easily accessed by going under the Pacific Coast Highway. While the community itself is not oceanfront, it is located next to the beachfront homes located on Beach Road in Dana Point.

The Shorecliffs community is also situated near the Shorecliffs Golf Course, with many homes located right next to the course. As such, some homes within the community offer views of the golf course, while others offer ocean views or views of both the golf course and the ocean.

Residents are also located conveniently near to the Shorecliffs Beach Club, which is a private club situated on the Pacific Ocean. The club offers a number of activities for homeowner members, including family-friendly events and community activities. Other amenities of the club include a fenced-in children’s playground and opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities such as paddle tennis, volleyball, ping pong and basketball. The inside of the clubhouse also boasts a big screen television, an assortment of games and a full kitchen.

The San Clemente Lifestyle

With a population of nearly 65,000 according to the 2010 Census, San Clemente is situated on the California Coast between Los Angeles and San Diego at the southern tip of Orange County. Known for its ocean, hill and mountain views, San Clemente is characterized by its Spanish Colonial style architecture and its pleasant climate. With its Mediterranean climate, temperatures in the region tend to average in the 70s, with the warmest month being August with an average temperature of 79 degrees. The coldest month is December, when the average temperature is 64 degrees.

The San Clemente area is popular among surfers, not just because of the pleasant year-round temperatures, but because the area catches swells all year. As a major surfing destination, it is home to Surfing Magazine, Longboard Magazine and The Surfer’s Journal publications. The city also has a large concentration of surfboard manufacturers and shapers, while San Clemente High School has won 6 out of 7 recent NSSA national surfing titles.

San Clemente Education

The city of San Clemente is served by the Capistrano Unified School District. There are six elementary schools within the city as well as three middle schools and one high school. There is also one virtual public high school, Capistrano Connections Academy, which serves students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. San Clemente High School has an International Baccalaureate Program and offers a number of advanced placement courses. The school is also home to a national title winning dance team and award-winning bands, orchestras and voice groups.
