Parkinson?s and Movement Disorder Foundation 5K

The Parkinson?s and Movement Disorder Foundation will be hosting its 7th annual Zent-A-Thon 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser on June 10th. The event is put on in an effort to assist local patients who are fighting neurological disorders. All proceeds from the event go to help fund the Parkinson?s and Movement Disorders Foundation, the National Spasmodic Torticollis Association and the American Parkinson Disease Association so they can support and provide resources and education to people with movement disorders. Proceeds will also be put toward research efforts at the Parkinson?s and Movement Disorder Institute located on the campus of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center in Fountain Valley.

The Zent-A-Thon 5K Run/Walk Fundraiser will begin at 8:30 am on June 10th and Miles Square Regional Park, which is located at 16801 Euclid Avenue in Fountain Valley. The event is put on in cooperation between the Parkinson?s and Movement Disorders Foundation (PMDF) and the National Spasmodic Torticollis Association (NSTA). All participants receive lunch, including food and beverages, as well as a free t-shirt. Participants are also eligible to win raffle prizes including a JumpSport Trampoline, two ?park hopper? tickets to Disneyland and two tickets to Knott?s Berry Farm. Lido Marina Village?s Shop the Block Benefit for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

OC Rescue Mission ofrece oportunidades para marcar la diferencia

Cada primer y tercer sábado del mes, la Misión de Rescate del Condado de Orange brinda oportunidades para la familia para hacer una diferencia en la vida de los residentes. El primer sábado del mes, los voluntarios ayudan con el programa Chili Van Outreach. Para esta oportunidad, los voluntarios se reúnen en Village of Hope para ayudar a cargar las camionetas con chile picante, pan, café y jugo. Luego siguen a Chili Van a un lugar de alcance donde ayudan a proporcionar comidas calientes a las personas sin hogar.

El tercer sábado del mes, los voluntarios pueden ayudar con The Village of Hope Campus. Los voluntarios se reúnen en Village of Hope para ayudar a ensamblar cajas de alimentos, armar kits de higiene, preparar y servir comidas en la cocina comunitaria y ayudar en la jardinería y limpieza del terreno.

The Orange County Rescue Missions ?Village of Hope? is located at 1 Hope Drive in Tustin. Volunteer opportunities take place every first and third Saturday of the month between 9:00 am and noon. Children must be at least 10-years-old to volunteer on-campus and volunteers between the ages of 10 and 16 require adult supervision.
